ABOUT RÆSON:

RÆSON is an independent Danish magazine on politics written by leading Danish politicians, experts and journalists. We publish a book-size bi-annual print edition in addition to this website. A one-year-subscription is 349 Danish kroner, while some web-based articles (and all of the English versions below) are free of charge.

RÆSON was launched on October 28 2002 - since then, we have published more than 300 articles, produced radio shows, books and newspaper articles (for leading Danish dailies such as Politken, Information and Berlingske Tidende). RÆSON is completely independent (each and every article expresses nothing but the views of author) and non-profit: all revenue is re-invested in the magazine, and the editors all work on a voluntary basis.

Occasionally when we publish an interview conducted in English, we include the original English version. These can be accessed - free of charge - below:

Interview with advisor to McCain, Randall Schriver: McCain will not be influenced by the neoconservatives

"McCain is not a novice in foreign policy like Bush was when he entered office in 2000 and was under influence by neo-conservative advisors. McCain is not someone who will change by influence of his advisors. Obama might be more likely to have such characteristics since he is a novice."

What significance does China have in the American election? And how do the Chinese view the contest? RÆSON puts these questions to leading experts in the US and China. Written by af Jonas Parello-Plesner, member of our editorial board.

Interview with Bates Gill: What the financial crisis means for US-China relations

"The economic issues have been manageable in recent years, but in a serious down term and even more serious for the US, I think China will be seen as a growing problem and even as an economical threat. I suspect that the economic issues will rise over the next year or so to be a much much bigger problem for US China relations."- Director at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Bates Gill.
